Going to see Grandma D and Papa Milo

We went up to Mt. Vernon for a family softball game on Sunday June 26th. We were able to meet my brother's girlfriend (only girlfriend I've ever met) McKayla (sp) her sons are the other young ones in the photo. My mom's house house a playset in the backyard and all the kids had a blast playing outside. They had a jam session with the guitars.

Elliette's Dance Recital

Kids' Day

We have Mother's Day and Father' Day... Why not have Kids' Day... in my city we do!!! On June 24th we celebrated our children by heading to the local park for bounce houses, music, playground, face painting, balloons, pony rides, you name it they've got it. Elliette got her picture taken with Rupunzel... look at that face she makes it says everything. Ian was happy to get an up close look at the "gawbudge" truck, whose that sneaking up on him? My kids loved listening to the cool rocking sounds of Recess Monkey! I've never seen Elliette shake it like that... wonderful good time.

Ready to Roll into Summer

Each year our community has a garage sale. It is truly a big deal. Not only did we manage to part with lots of great junk. We purchased this versatile bike trailer from a friend. It has a large pocket in the bag for the "gear" my kids need (think water, sunscreen, jackets, snacks). We have been using it as a double stroller. Here is a photo from one of our many trips to the park! Also, to be celebrate Elliette learned how to climb up the climbing wall at the playground this day! Hurray Elliette we are proud of those strong muscles.

Happy Father's Day!

June 19th was Father's Day. The kids wanted to make breakfast in bed for daddy! I have to be honest in saying that, while the photo op was so worth it, it was a nightmare. Elliette and Ian spent most of the time eating off Daddy's plate while daddy tried not to stress out too much about their clumsy little hands dropping syrup and sausage on our new pottery barn duvet! Check out their aprons, made just for this special morning.

Woodland Park Zoo Teacher Appreciation Day

On June 4th, 2011 we had a wild time at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. It was teacher appreciation day so my admission was free and Brian's was 1/2 off BONUS!!! We had the best time exploring the exhibits. We made friends with a bird named Lucette who landed right on Ian. He didn't notice at first but then he FREAKED he did not enjoy being that close to the bird! We purchased seed sticks which were used to feed the birds. Next, we checked out the Penguin exhibit. It is hard to tell from the photos but the windows actually seem to go into the water under the habitat. Ian was so cute pointing and shouting Pen-gins Pen-gins! Another favorite was the dinosaur exhibit wear you could observe animatronic dinosaurs. Check out the photo of Elliette and I in front of T-rex. Ian wasn't going anywhere near that guy! No way!
